This is a gorgeous decorative Cork Oak Natural Edge bowl with a high standing lacy cork bark. A satin polyurethane finish was used to help protect the wood's character. This is strictly a decorative bowl and should be handled with great care not to break off the bark. I harvested the wood from a cork oak tree that came down in the heavy rains of 2006 in Pleasant Hill, California.
